We are building our retirement home, and so regrettably it’s time to part with our beloved carousel horses. They were the hits of birthdays, holidays and photo sessions with family and friends, and prominent fixtures in our homes for over 30 years. Now our kids are grown and have no room for them in their city apartments.
We have 4 horses and all are hand carved antiques from the C.W. Parker Company from the early 1900’s. The horses can be lifted off the heavy brass poles and laid flat for easy transport. C.W. Parker was one of the well-known carvers making carousels at the time, and is featured in Charlotte Dinger’s book, The Art of the Carousel. These are all outside row horses, which were the most elaborately decorated because they were the most visible when the carousel was spinning.

This horse is an Outside Row Jumper circa 1914. The “Rose Horse” is white, in park paint, with gorgeous large cabbage roses on the side and the cantle, and a jewel on the bridle. This horse has a real horsehair tail. The horses are priced to sell, and well under appraised value. We are also including the brass poles, which we paid $600 for each. Must be picked up in Ponte Vedra. The horses can be lifted off the brass poles and laid flat for easy transport.
